Mark Southernhas been the Owner and President of ENCAP, Inc. since 1993 and serves as an ecologist and wetland scientist. Mark has a bachelors of science degree from Northern Illinois University and has worked at Anderson Environmental, NIU’s Natural History Museum and the Illinois Department of Conservation. He has also performed every task at ENCAP from top to bottom and he brings a vast experience in project management, wetland regulation, permitting, natural area restoration, and native landscaping on over 700 projects. His leadership and management has enabled ENCAP to expand their capabilities and services over their 35 year history to what it is today. |

Carl Peterson, LEED AP, CPESCis the Vice President of ENCAP, Inc. He has been a member of the ENCAP team since 1998 and has worked in all aspects of the business. Carl manages client relations, public bid processes and high profile consulting projects. It’s Carl’s job to make sure that ENCAP’s projects meet internal standards and client expectations. Many private and public land development professionals rely on his problem solving skills to manage environmental risk factors during the planning process and during construction. In addition to land improvement projects, Carl has developed extensive experience with habitat management on private property. Carl completed his Bachelors in Environmental Science at Roosevelt University where he graduated with honors. |

Jonathan Koepke, CPESC, LEED-APis the Vice President and General Manager for ENCAP, Inc. in Sycamore, IL. Jonathan Koepke has been with ENCAP, Inc. since 2006. Prior to coming to ENCAP, Jonathan was the Resource Conservationist at the Kane-DuPage Soil & Water Conservation District. While at the KDSWCD for 5 years, he performed erosion control plan review and site inspection for compliance with US Army Corps of Engineers, IEPA, and Municipal erosion and sediment control regulations. Jonathan is a graduate of Northern Illinois University where he completed both his Bachelors and Masters degrees. His areas of expertise and interest include streambank stabilization and restoration techniques, Polyacrylamide use for erosion and sediment control, and revegetative techniques on construction sites. He is currently pursuing his Masters in Business Administration from Northern Illinois University. |

Sarah Roznyis the Office Manager with ENCAP and has a Bachelor’s degree in Business Management from Northern Illinois University. Sarah manages the front office staff, handles human resources needs, and billing. Prior to joining ENCAP, Sarah has experience in the construction industry working for FCL Builders and FH Pascen general contractors as Project Assistant and Accountant. |

Matt Bivins, CPESC, CESSWIis the Field Operations Manager. Matt has been with ENCAP, Inc. since 2005. He is a Certified Professional in Erosion and Sediment Control (CPESC), a Certified Sediment and Storm Water Inspector (CESSWI), and a Lake County, IL Designated Erosion Control Inspector (DECI). He received a Bachelors of Arts from Augustana College, Rock Island, IL with a major in Biology and a minor in Environmental Studies. His areas of expertise are erosion and sediment control Best Management Practice (BMP) installation and maintenance, site stabilization, NPDES compliance, anionic polyacrylamide enhanced BMPs, construction site inspections, and storm water pollution prevention plan development and maintenance. |

Susan Rowley, LEED-APis the Consulting Division Manager of ENCAP, Inc. Susan designs naturalized stormwater management plans, native landscaping projects, and assists private and public land development professionals obtain Federal, State, and Local permits relating to wetlands, natural resource management and Stormwater Ordinances. Susan completed a Bachelors of Science from Illinois State University with an emphasis on Environmental Studies. Susan has been an Ecological Consultant with ENCAP, Inc. since 2005. She is currently a Certified Arborist, a LEED Accredited Professional, and a Certified Wetland Specialist in Lake and McHenry Counties, IL. |

Ryan Alltop, CPESC, CESSWIis an Erosion and Sediment Control Specialist, Ecological Consultant and Project Manager who has been with ENCAP since 2007. Ryan has a bachelors degree in biology from Grand Valley State University and has obtained professional certifications as a CPESC, CESSWI, and DECI. Ryan has a vast variety of practical experience managing native landscape and erosion and sediment control installations on projects for ENCAP in Wisconsin, Indiana and Illinois. |

Melissa Wheeler, Associate ASLAis the Resource Analyst and Landscape Designer with ENCAP, Inc. Melissa completed a Bachelors of Landscape Architecture from the University of Illinois, Champaign-Urbana. Melissa has been working in the green industry for almost a decade and has been primarily focusing on residential and commercial landscape design, annual display rotations, and container gardening design. Melissa is responsible for all technical drafting at ENCAP, Inc. and works with the consultants on native landscape plans. |

Chip Deangelois a graduate of Calvin College in Grand Rapids, MI with a bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science with a Biology emphasis. After graduating in 2000, he worked for the Zahniser Institute in Greenville, IL doing prairie and wetland planting and monitoring. In 2002 Chip came to Encap Inc.’s restoration division where he manages planting, installation, management, and controlled burns at our clients’ native areas. |

Kenny McPeekis a graduate of Highland Community College and began work at ENCAP in 2002. Kenny has extensive experience in equipment operation, agriculture, and native landscaping and restoration techniques. He manages multiple projects including native landscaping installations, natural area management, and erosion and sediment control installation. |

Kyle Egleris a graduate of Kishwaukee College and is a restoration project manager at ENCAP, Inc. Prior to joining ENCAP, Kyle has experience with the Kane County Forest Preserve District performing maintenance, restoration work, and prescribed burns. |
